3 Great Resources for Preaching the Gospel to Yourself
You never graduate from the gospel. Period. No one is a gospel graduate.
The gospel is not some alumni dinner that you come back to... every once in a while. It is to be the constant nourishment that we partake in, daily.
We're to steep in the gospel. Ruminate on the gospel. Rehearse the gospel - over and over. We're to meditate on the truths of the gospel and thereby bring the gospel to bear on every aspect of our life. The gospel is something that we dwell on and it's something we dwell in.
For that reason, we should preach the gospel to ourselves every day.
Below are three excellent resources that I have enjoyed in growing in what it means to preach the gospel to myself. I commend them to you deeply:
- Experiencing the Trinity: The Grace of God for the People of God, Joe Thorn
- A Gospel Primer for Christians: Learning to See the Glories of God's Love, Milton Vincent
- New Morning Mercies: A Daily Gospel Devotion, Paul David Tripp
